In all the information promulgated on this forum and the birddogdistributing site, there does not seem to be a comparison of the brightmess of the rope LED's and the standard rope.

I wish to run a cove valance in my basement to provide an adjustable light source for a home theatre, but the absence of information on the lumen output per foot of each lighting source has me at a standstill.

Can anyone out there help??

Very good point. If someone was involved in interior room designing then the balance of lighting would be important. As you know the light output of devices is measured in Lumen and the intensity of lighting used in video shoots and photography is measured in temperature or Kelvin. I have seen photo meters used to measure ambient light in these situations. The effect or intensity of any lighting is determined by surrounding conditions. None of the above are good for actually creating light. They are only useful for contour or ambient lighting. If you want to make light you need led strips like this one:
