Anyone know if it's possible to connect a chasing controller to a rope light display?

There are at least 2 types of commonly used controllers. 2-wire rope light controllers that either fade/flash/dim and 3 wire controllers that make your 3-wire rope lights appear to chase or create different patterns. You should be able to connect a chasing controller to an existing display as long as the display was created with 3-wire rope lights. If they were created with 2-wire the best you can do is flash, fade, or dim. Grin

Are rope light silhouettes most commonly made with 2-wire? It's not something specified with the products specifications on the sites I've looked at.

Yes, 2-wire, 3/8 inch rope light is the most common type used to make silhouettes and motifs.
