My wife directs kids musical theatre shows and for every production we spend $100 renting a 50' long, string of incandescent chase lights. I'm looking to buy an LED substitute that would work the same and be more durable. The lchase ight string we rent uses frosted 11watt incandescent bulbs every 4" and has an enormous non-solid state box that controls the speed of the chasing action. Does anybody know if there's some kind of LED version that provides chasing action? I don't need color. I might be able to wire something together if I had a circuit diagram.

Thanks.

The best option is to go with a 4-wire RGB LED rope light. You can buy a 65' spool and a deluxe controller for around $330.
