LED Strip Lights

I have heard some about these new LED strip lights.  Does anyone know much about them?  Are they a more cost effective solution to rope lighting? Are they brighter? Do they last longer? Any help would be a ppreciated.

I have been experimenting with strip lights and am quite impressed with them. However, this is a rope light forum so we want to stay on the topic of rope lights.

it depends what you are trying to do with them,
if you need a even glow visible from all sides then rope light is the way to go
if you want to use it to light an area then the led flex strips will out shine and out last the rope light by far but only shine light in one direction about 120deg from the base

Hi, I used SMD 5050 strips, 60LEDs in a metre, and even those are extremely bright, but there are high-power LED strips too available.
