Any one know what is causing sections of a particular color along the length of a RGB light string to go out? There does not seem to be any problem with the other two colors. It's like they worked fine for months then 3 ft. sections at random locations of one color either dimm greatly or just go out.

Would not the entire length of that color of that rope be out?

if they are wired in series without resistors then they will be connected in sections so say you have a 120v strip you could have about 50x leds wired in series so if they are say every .7 in apart then they would be connected in series in 3ft sections so if one connection is loose or breaks then you will loose the whole section:-(
