As per my knowledge, rope lights can be easily bend to its maximum. Rope lights are flexible and thats why they are not gonna break, so you can bend it as much as you like.

You would want to be careful though. I have had some wires from the rope light stretch too far from a sharp bend and break a solder connection and cause the rope light not to work. I would suggest using an "L" connector to make a 90 degree corner. This puts no strain on the small wires within the rope light.
